Zminijietna, in a statement appealed to the Ministry of the Environment not to increase licenses for petrol stations.
The Left think tank organisation, added that “proper planning is more important for a sustainable future rather than a free market approach.”
“The decreasing of the total floor area of a petrol station is more welcome,” said Zminijietna, and the the distance between petrol stations should be more than 1.5km.
Zminijietna concluded by saying that the revised policy should totally prohibit the development of other facilities. “Food and catering services on site goes totally against the spirit of the European directive on health and safety issues concerning petrol stations.”
