April is Autism Awareness Month, and this week, the Catechetical Office and the Ministry for Gozo reached an agreement to bring specialised material from America as an aid to assist children with autism spectrum disorder during their catechism lessons.
This material complements the sacramental preparation kits brought the last year with the help of the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disability.
As in the case of kits, the Catechetical Office will present part of this material to the Sannat Special Unit, which works tirelessly for children with autism.
The Catechetical Office thanked Gozo Bishop Mgr. Mario Grech and Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana, for their participation in the project which was first initiated last year.
Mr Victor Gusman, Administrative Secretary of the Curia, signed the agreement on behalf of Bishop Grech.
