Citizens’ Dialogue in Gozo about the “future of Europe”

A Citizens’ Dialogue is taking place in Gozo on the future of the Cohesion Policy in Malta and Gozo, organised by The European Representation in Malta.
The dialogue will be with the Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu and the Commissioner for the Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu Vella.
The public is invited to attend event, next Wednesday, the 18th of April, starting at 5:30pm, at the Grand Hotel, Mgarr, Gozo. A reception will follow.
Cohesion policy is the policy behind the hundreds of thousands of projects all over Europe that receive funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Cohesion Fund (Cohesion Fund applies to EU Member States which have a GDP lower than 90 % of the EU-27 average.
This EU funding is about “reducing disparities between the various regions and the backwardness of the least-favoured regions.”
