GMA FunRace provides a great afternoon of entertainment for the fans

A FunRace, the second of the season, took place on Easter Sunday, organised by the Gozo Motocross Association at Ta’ Xhajma Motocross Track.
It was a windy day, but it did not stop the event turned being a successful one, with riders enjoying the experience of participating in reshuffled heats in all of the three classes.
The GMA said that it was a friendly and challenging fight between the riders in the 125cc class, making it very exciting for the spectators.
David Dimech won this class followed by Steve Xuereb. Nataniel Camilleri came in third by just one point behind Xuereb.
Glen Vella did very well again in Class B, he came in first, followed closely by Robert Spiteri.with Matthew Zammit in third place.A number of teenagers who are interested in motocross showed up on their motorised bicycles. Wearing protective clothing, they had a chance to try out the track, much to the amusement of all the spectators.
They all enjoyed every minute of it and they were given a small token for their participation in Sunday’s event.
The GMA President Frank Xuereb thanked the sponsors who supported Sunday’s event – Ravenol Motoroil Malta and Sports Experience Trophies & Awards.He also gave special thanks to Steve Xuereb who donated MX tires and accessories for the 125cc race, together with handcrafted trophies for some of the participants.
The Association said that it always encourages and welcomes new riders.
The semi-finals of the Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship ’18 will take place next Sunday, the 8th of April.
