The BOV Istrina Campaign has this year raised the sum of €40,000. Donations were collected from children in schools across Malta and Gozo in a campaign that involved the distribution of over 7,000 piggy banks.
BOV piggy banks were also distributed to a selection of retail outlets across Malta and Gozo, where shoppers were encouraged to make a donation to this worthy cause.
The funds were presented by Edward Muscat Azzopardi, head of marketing at Bank of Valletta during the live broadcast of Istrina held on the 27th of December. He was accompanied by BOV employees who participated in the campaign.
Presenting the funds Mr. Muscat Azzopardi said “The participation and enthusiasm of school children was very encouraging this year, showing yet again the solidarity that children show with those members of society who are in need. The bank is encouraged by this excellent response and had decided to make a further donation to bring the total amount to €40,000.
This year marks the 4th edition of the BOV Istrina Campaign, which confirms the bank’s commitment to the community. This support towards this yearly event forms part of the social aspect of the BOV Community Programme, through which the bank makes tangible financial contributions to the communities within which it operates.”
