Remembering that at this time there is the constant need for blood, with many people currently in hospitals on the Maltese Islands who are suffering with serious illnesses.
The National Blood Transfusion Service is issuing an appeal for blood donations to keep up with the daily quota required.
There will be a donation session in Gozo this weekend and the Service is urging those who can to go along and give blood, especially those who have never donated before.
Blood donations can be made at the Outpatients Department of the Gozo General Hospital, between 8am and 1pm, (last registration until 1pm) on Sunday, the 18th of February. Please also encourage others to donate if possible.
It is important that before you go to donate blood to drink a substantial amount of water, and take your ID card, driving license or Maltese passport.
The Service thanks everyone in advance who intend to donate.
