Carnival time is here, closely followed by St Valentine’s Day, a happy, fun and romantic time for most people, however sadly not for everyone, certainly not for those who are facing serious illness.
The National Blood Transfusion Service has said that there is currently a shortage of blood, with demand increasing and fewer people donating because of the this winter’s outbreak of flu.
The Service is therefore inviting the public in Gozo to donate blood during a session being held at the Gozo General Hospital Outpatients Department, next Tuesday, the 13th of February, between 1:00pm and 5:00pm – last registration is 5:00pm.
It is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
