Gozo Motocross Association FunRace keeps spectators entertained

The first FunRace of the season took place in perfect weather on Sunday afternoon at Ta’ Xhajma Motocross Track, organised by the Gozo Motocross Association.
A rider reshuffle took place in three of the three classes. The GMA said that Class C welcomed two new riders who both did quite well. Glenn Vella achieved maximum points in this class, while Kurt Fenech followed close behind to take second place. Newcomer Mark Zammit was placed third.
Jorn Stellini also achieved maximum points in Class B, he was followed by Matthew Zammit and Godfrey Bigeni took third place.
Joseph Bigeni won first place in Class A, Robert Spiteri came in second, while third place was won by Nataiel Camilleri.The next category provided the spectators with some interesting fun, as Class A riders challenged each other with their 125cc dirtbikes. Etienne Bigeni took first place, followed by Steve Xuereb and Robert Spiteri respectively.
A number of children among the spectators showed interest in the motosport and they were given the opportunity to have supervised rides around the track.
The Association said that it always encourages and welcomes new riders.
GMA President Frank Xuereb, awarded trophies to the winners. A set of handmade trophies by Steve Xuereb were presented to the winners of the 125cc class.The Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship ’18 Round 5 will take place on Sunday, the 18th of February at Ta’ Xhajma Motocross Track.
