Greenhouse Malta is now entering year two of its Wild For Orchids Project, which will see them continue surveying orchids across the Maltese Islands, however they need help with this in Gozo.
And with this in mind they are calling for all nature enthusiasts to take part in discovering Gozo’s unique orchid species.
Greenhouse said that it is especially keen to offer opportunities to those residing in Gozo and encourages anyone with a love for nature and/or keen interest in plants to join. They said that no prior experience is necessary.
So join them at 10.30am, next Saturday, the 3rd of February, for – Wild For Orchids – at EcoGozo within the Ministry for Gozo, St Francis Square, Victoria, to learn about orchids and how you can become a citizen scientist!
Stephen Mifsud a local orchid expert will give a talk on how to identify species. Following this, and a break with drinks and snacks, there will be the opportunity to go to a nature area and begin learning how to survey orchids.
Greenhouse Malta thanked their sponsors: EcoGozo and The Environmental Funding Scheme, as well as their partner organisation BINCO.
Greenhouse Malta is a student organisation working at the University of Malta on Environmental and Animal Issues, Social justice and Awareness.
