Update: Man’s body found in Gharb, Police treating case as murder

Update – The body of a man found this morning has been identified as a 42-year-old Egyptian from Zebbug, Gozo. Police said that the case is being treated as murder.
Preliminary investigations showed that the man died from gunshot wounds, said the Police. The body was found in a field this morning in the area of the San Dimitri Chapel in Gharb, Gozo.
Officers from the Victoria Police Station were called to the site at around 7.45am.
Duty Magistrate Dr P Coppini has appointed several experts to assist in the Magisterial Inquiry.
Police investigations are still ongoing to establish the facts surrounding the case.
