Carnival time is already on the horizon, and in Nadur the very popular annual festivities will get underway with the organised carnival on the 4th of February.
The Nadur Local Council is inviting everyone to join them and be part of this unique event, which opens with organised events in a packed St. Peter & St. Paul Square on the Sunday afternoon.
The programme for the afternoon will have something to entertain all ages, including a riot of colour, laughter, a variety of carnival dances, hilarious sketches, costumes, maskeruni, floats – both large and small, and the traditional kukkanja to bring it to a close.
This will be followed later in the week with the famous Nadur Spontaneous Carnival – which projects the message of carnival made through satire.
This gets underway on Friday, the 9th through until Tuesday, the 13th of February, in December 13th Street, St. Peter & St. Paul Square and the surrounding streets, beginning after sunset each day and lasting till the early morning hours.
Gozo is famous for its Carnival week of events and attracts thousands of visitors from Malta and further afield. It is a time to let your hair down and go with the flow – perfect for those who enjoy a good party! There will be activities taking place in villages across the island, with the full programme available nearer the dates.
