Man sentenced to 1 year in jail for theft and being a vagabond

A 48-year old man who appeared at the Gozo Court today, has been sentenced to one year in jail, together with a fine of €116.47, after he admitted charges of attempted theft.
Police in a statement said that the man appeared before Magistrate Paul Coppini and was accused of committing theft, carrying pointed instruments without a licence, living an idle life as a vagabond, as well as being a relapser.
The charges were relating to crimes committed in Victoria on New Year’s Day, Police said. The identity of the man has not been released.
