The Gozo Community choir, which started in June 2017, now has 54 members of different nationalities, including French, English, South African, Italian and Gozitan.
The choir said that it would like to see a register of 100 by Easter to join them in this wonderful different new musical journey. The January programme will include some Abba, Mozart, Michael Jackson, Sister Act.
The organisers said that they are actively trying to involve more local people. “That said, we welcome anyone who enjoys singing, to come and give us a try. We are a self funding, non audition choir, and you do not have to be able to read music.”
The choir in 2018 would also like to begin a junior section too if enough interest is shown, and they can be contacted through their facebook page.
Next Sunday the Gozo Community Choir will be performing at finale of the Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem Nativity Village.
The choir meets weekly on a Tuesday night between 7.00pm and 9.00pm, in the function room on the 3rd floor of Tigrija Palazz, situated at the main crossroads in Victoria.
The Community Choir said they are a very friendly group and encourage everyone to go along and give it a try.
