Improving the quality of our environment in rural areas

There is still time to take part in the public consultation for proposed regulations on improving the quality of our environment in rural area.
These new regulations have been issued by the Planning Authority in collaboration with the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA).
The aim, the Authorities said, is to provide the legal framework to enable the proactive regeneration of areas which become the victim of illegal dumping or reclamation and have remained in a derelict state for a period of time.
Detailed studies would then be carried out to establish the appropriate method of generation for the area,
They said that following these studies the new law will enable the Authorities to carry out habitat restoration projects in these areas, these could also include afforestation.
The Planning Authority and the Environment and Resources Authority invite individuals and organisations to send their representation pertaining to these draft regulations.
The full proposed regulations may be viewed on the Authorities website here.
Representations are to be made in writing and sent on email address: email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
Submissions must reach the Authorities by Monday, the 22nd of January 2018.
