Students at Gozo College Gharb Primary School, having enjoyed their Christmas Party, had a lovely surprise when Father Christmas arrived in the school grounds pulled by a horse drawn carriage.
Students, as well as some of the parents who were present, were very pleased to see the unexpected, but very welcome visitor, as was shown by their happy, appreciative faces.
Father Christmas also distributed gifts to each child. The school said that for the students “this day was a positive experience which they will surely remember throughout their lives.”
The Head of the school, Marthese Attard, thanked Gharb Mayor David Apap Agius and the Local Council, for their close collaboration with the school to enable this special event to take place.
She went on to say that a lot of planning and help had been needed to make Santa’s surprise visit such a success, adding that without the help of the Council this would not have been possible.
Mayor David Apap Agius remarked that this was one of a series of events that have been made by the Gharb Council for local school children during this year and wished for more such initiatives over the coming years.
The Mayor wished the teachers students and parents present, Christmas greetings of happiness, peace, and much prosperity in the coming year.
Marthese Attard thanked the school staff and all those involved who helped make the day such a success and on behalf of the school wished everyone a Happy Holiday.
