This year’s NahsebFik proved to be a great success, by helping more than 220 elderly and vulnerable people, including those that attend the Santa Marta Day Centre in Victoria.
The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana visited the Centre to distribute the gifts, saying that “the smile on their faces bears witness to the joy that someone believed in them and gave them the gift they wished for. Thank you to everyone who contributed.”
NahsebFik, now in its third year, was launched to fulfil the Christmas wishes of one of the most vulnerable groups in our society – elderly people. The project is held in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo.
The Ministry said that many of them would usually spend their Christmas alone, receive no Christmas cards, no phone calls and no presents. Besides being alone, they also face social difficulties to cope with everyday life.
