This year’s Seminary Christmas production in Gozo – Fettlilna Naghmlu Musical – has been hailed as a huge success.
In front of a full house at the Astra theatre, the performance by the students and staff of the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary in Victoria, was of the highest calibre, with plenty to keep the audience entertained throughout the evening.
The musical, written by Mr Alexander George Farrugia, and directed by the very able Fr Joseph Bajada told the audience the story of a miserable school, staffed by dejected teachers and attended by students with questionable levels of motivation.
However, a breath of new life arrives at the school in the form of a new member of staff – full of energy and enthusiasm, but somewhat naive -but a welcome break from what has been, so far, a stifling working environment.
After many hours of rehearsing and the total dedication of the whole staff together with the students, the school said that it is very proud of its achievement, which had a truly happy ending both on stage and off!
In attendance were, His Excellency, Gozo Bishop Mgr. Mario Grech, the Seminary Rector Fr Richard Nazzareno Farrugia and the service manager for Catholic schools in Gozo, Mr Stephen Spiteri together with the school SMTs – Headmaster Fr Noel Saliba and Assistant Heads Fr Joe Zammit and Fr Michael Said.
