Following last nights shooting incident at the Mqabba PN club which left 11 persons injured, 2 of them seriously, the Malta Labour party and Alternattiva Demokratika have condemned the shooting and expressed their solidarity.
The Labour Party said that Party Leader, Dr Joseph Muscat, telephoned the PN headquarters and expressed the party’s solidarity, Dr Muscat also later visited the PN club in Mqabba.
Alternattiva Demokratika -The Green Party said it unreservedly condemns the ugly shooting incident at the political party club in Mqabba where a number of people were injured.
Arnold Cassola, Alternattiva Demokratika Chairperson, stated: “Whatever the reasons behind this senseless shooting, our country can no longer tolerate such barbarous situations, whereby an individual decides to take the law into his own hands and shoot blindly into a crowd of people, injuring 8 in the process.”
“The rule of law, and not that of the jungle, should be the hallmark of a democratic and pluralistic society, such as the one we pride ourselves to form part of,” concluded Prof. Cassola.
