Donate blood and help give the gift of life this Christmas

This Sunday why not give the best Christmas gift of all and donate blood, giving something to others and perhaps helping to save lives.
The National Blood Transfusion Service has said that reserves of blood are not as stable as they would like. It is always a challenge to collect enough donations at this time of the year to meet patient needs for blood during the busy festive season ahead.
Therefore the Service is inviting members of the public to donate blood this Sunday, the 10th of December, during a session taking place at the Gozo General Hospital.
The blood donation session will be held between 8:00am and 1:00pm, in the Outpatients Department. “If possible please also encourage others to attend and donate as well.”
The Service is reminding everyone that it is important to always take their Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
For all the information on who is eligible to donate blood, please see here.
