Christmas Tree and lights switched on as Gozo festivities get underwayLast night, Christmas festivities in Gozo officially got underway, with the switching on of the Christmas Tree in Independence Square, as well as the various Christmas lights, by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana.

The Villa Rundle Gardens are also illuminated this year, and visitors will be able to see a display of Christmas related items made be those who attend the Santa Marta Day Centre in Victoria.

Those present for last night’s event were able to enjoy a Christmas music concert for all the family, featuring the Malta Concert Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Paul Abela, accompanied by the Piccole Stelle Choir, Aurora Youth Choir, Deborah C, Stefania Grech, Aldo Busuttil, Sarah Bonnici, Francesca Borg, Josef Tabone, and Lawrence Gray.Christmas Tree and lights switched as Gozo festivities get underwayThe Christmas programme of events in Gozo will continue until Sunday, the 7th of January and details can be found on the official Christmas in Gozo facebook page.

There will be concerts, living and static cribs, exhibitions, Christmas Fairs, pageants and much more.

      Nice music! Unfortunately the whole show was in Maltese!
      Why NO English translation whatsoever!!
      Such a shame and a disappointment!! ???

      Majority of the singing was in English, we were there and did not expect everything to be in English when it’s the locals second language.
