Gozo Ministry Christmas tree made by clients of Santa Marta Day CentreThe United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated on the 3rd of December, aims to promote the understanding of disability issues, with a strong message for the inclusion and skills of disabled persons.

To mark the occasion, the Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana has said that this year’s Christmas Tree at the entrance of the Ministry for Gozo, has been made by clients who attend the Santa Marta Day Centre in Victoria.

Dr Caruana thanked them for their work and for helping to bring festive cheer to the Ministry building.

Christmas related items made be those who attend the Centre have been on display at the Villa Rundle Gardens.

The Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability are celebrating Disability Week in Gozo and Malta, starting today, until next Saturday, the 9th of December.

On Monday, the CRPD Gozo office is organising a conference at the Sannat Primary School between 9.00am and midday, with the theme – I Can.

It will include disability awareness-raising, targeting 7th grade children attending Middle School, who will have the opportunity to directly experience the various technology at the school, such as the multi-sensory room.
