Two community projects in the village of Ghajnsielem were inaugurated at the weekend, which were completed through the work of the Local Council and the village residents.
The Minister for Gozo together with Mayor Franco Ciangura inaugurated a mosaic staircase and planter at Wied ir-Rghajjes Street, by mosaic artist Mary Portelli with the assistance of residents in the locality. The second project was a giant photograph frame with Ta’ Passi and the Ghajnsielem Parish Church as the backdrop.
Dr Caruana said that these projects are evidence of a strong sense of community. “The love for the village, the participation of residents and foremost the energy of the Local Council.” She added that the Ministry for Gozo fully supports these types of initiatives.
FrameIt – is a gigantic photograph frame, the first of its type on the Maltese islands, which will be decorated on occasion to suit festivities through the year.
The public are invited to take their photos and post it on the FrameIt facebook page to share the experience with others. The Council said that it also provides a different type of attraction for those who visit Ghajnsielem.
