Enjoy an evening of Carols by Candlelight and dinner in Gozo

There is still the opportunity to purchase your tickets for Carols by Candlelight in Gozo – with Schola Cantorum Jubilate.
This will be the fourteenth edition of this magical, festive concert, which touches the hearts with lovely Christmas Classics and other contemporary compositions. and should be included in everyones Christmas schedule.
The Gozitan choir, will be under the direction of Marouska Attard, who will also interpret solo pieces and a duet with Albert Buttigieg.
They are sure to bring out the true spirit of Christmas,so that even with a spiritual touch, it manages to recreate childhood memories and above all supports life.
The setting for the concert is different each year and is aimed to blend with the chosen theme, the church architecture and with the carols presented.
The repertoire for this year includes traditional and less popular pieces, while highlighting particular Maltese compositions.
Among the list of composers whose works will be interpreted, there are Rossetti, Gruber, Joubert, Head, Rutter, Yon, Galea, Pace and even musical arrangements by Willcocks and Portelli.
There will be special light effects and surprises along the programme. Following the concert, patrons will leave the church and enter the cloister of the same priory. In the foyer, there will be an exhibition entitled ‘VISION-ES’ by Aaron Formosa, a young talented Gozitan artist.
A five-course meal, has been entrusted to Ta’ Frenc Chefs, and will be served in the cloister.
‘Carols by Candlelight’ which once again will be held at St. Augustine’s Priory in Victoria, on Friday and Saturday, the 15th and 16th of December, starting at 7.30pm.
All proceeds from the soirée go to Guzeppa Debono Home, that caters for single mothers, prolife activities and educational campaigns in favour of life.
The cloister of the priory, will later serve as a banquet hall where delicious Christmas plates will be served. Ticket price for the concert and dinner is €70 per person.
