Christmas festivities in Gozo official programme launch for 2017The programme for the Christmas festivities in Gozo has had its official launch today by the Minister for Gozo, Justyne Caruana.

The Gozo Christmas programme – the choice for Christmas is Gozo – contains a myriad of festivities and special events with something to suit everyone’s taste, taking place in a beautiful and friendly environment, said the Minister for Gozo.

Dr Caruana explained that the programme was prepared by a team created specially, who over the past months, has worked not only on the programme, but also to ensure that there was involvement from the Government, as well as the private and voluntary sectors.

‘She added that, “we want this year to have the true meaning of Christmas, to feel and experience it through every part of this programme.”

The Minister for Gozo said that, “through this Christmas programme we must valorise everything Gozo – traditions, typical local products and the great cultural talent we have on this island.”

The Minister for Gozo thanked all those who gave their support to this initiative, and welcomed everyone who will be visiting the island for the unique experience of Christmas in Gozo.

Mr John Magro, Managing Director of Magro Brothers, said that each year Gozo becomes increasingly popular as a destination where families can spend a few days of rest and enjoy the Christmas festivities.

He congratulated the Ministry for Gozo on this this year’s extensive programme, and praised their initiatives to increase activities for children, who he said, “are the protagonists in the Christmas festivities.”
