English language public speaking competition for students in Gozo

Gozo’s English language Public Speaking Competition for students will be held at Gozo College Secondary School, Victoria, on Friday, the 24th of November.
This will be the first of what are to become regular annual events being arranged by the Gozo Branch of the English Speaking Union, with support from the Rotary Club of Gozo.
Following its successful course for Year 10 students and its Summer School in July, where students demonstrated excellent standards of public speaking, the Gozo branch of the English Speaking Union is to run the first public speaking competition in English for Gozitan students.
The competition will get underway at 5.30pm, and will feature students aged between 11 and 15. Their prepared speeches on the general theme of ‘The Island of Gozo’ will assessed by panels of expert judges.
The hall will seat up to 70 the public are advised to be sure to reserve the date for this first for Gozo. And please be seated by 5.25pm, as latecomers will not be admitted while a speech is in progress.
