Gozitan voluntary organisations receive grant from NGOs Fund

Grants have been awarded to sixteen successful Gozitan voluntary organisations who applied for the Ministry for Gozo Non-Governmental Organisations Assistance Scheme 2017, during a ceremony held at the Ministry.
The scheme was launched on the 12th of July this year aimed at improving the social, cultural, economic and ecological fabric of the Gozitan Society, as well as promoting and encouraging a culture of volunteering and the participation in volunteer activities in Gozo.
The scheme was also launched to stimulate the cooperation and networking between voluntary organisations and foster cooperation between them and the Ministry for Gozo through collaborative projects, initiatives and other activities.
The maximum amount of financial assistance that any voluntary NGOs was able to receive was €5,000.
Dr Caruana thanked all the 38 voluntary organisation that submitted applications and stressed the Ministry’s commitment to the volunteering sector in Gozo.
She added that this scheme was so successful that that preparations are already underway to start similar schemes in the coming weeks.
