The Citadel Arts Centre was the perfect backdrop for last night’s fashion show, organised by VickyAnn Xuereb at il-Hjata, in aid of Dar Guzeppa Debono.
The show, Still Rise – Fashion meets Literature, was hailed as a huge success, with its theme as -Empowering and encouraging women.
The 25 stunning models graced the catwalk in beautiful gowns, showcasing VickyAnn’s designs.
The evening was hosted by Amanda Ciappara, while Helen Camilleri recited poems that complimented the theme of the fashion show itself, including the poem by Maya Angelou – Still I Rise.
Sarah Bonnici, singer and Danny Magro, musician, charmed the audience with their live music. Wine and delicacies were served following the show.
Apart from the fashion show, patrons also had the opportunity to view an exhibition which was set up featuring a reconstructed sewing room filled with antique furniture, including sewing machines and objects that pertain to the tailoring industry.
These were teamed with some of VickyAnn’s current works and designs, which were also displayed around the room.
