A 46-year-old Nadur man, Peter Paul Vella, has been granted bail after being charged with the possession of child pornography.
The accused was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000 after pleading not guilty to the charges. The police said that investigations are still continuing.
Yesterday Gharb Local Council issued a statement clarifying that the accused was not a member of the staff at the Gharb Primary School and was not permanently posted there.
The council statement went on to say that he had occasionally visited the Gharb Primary School, along with other state schools in Gozo.
