On Wednesday, a million children around the world prayed the Rosary in their homes and schools, for world peace and unity.
Over 14000 children from Gozo and Malta responded to the invitation from international charity Aid to Church in Need (ACN) to take part in this annual event to foster peace and understanding.
Even more children from Gozo took part this year – 2033 in total, from 9 schools and 3 parishes.
ACN said that it was encouraging to see the great interest shown by teachers and leaders of youth organisations, particularly M.U.S.E.U.M, in promoting this peace initiative.
The Rosary for Peace event was held in co-operation with the Secretariat for Catholic Education; Fr. Effie Masini, the Bishop of Gozo’s delegate for Church schools and Fr. Reuben Gauci, responsible for Spiritual Development in Church and state schools.
ACN (Malta) while thanking these officials, would also like to thank the heads of participating schools, teachers, priests, the M.U.S.E.U.M. Society and parents for their efforts in encouraging children to participate.
