A Nativity Village, Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem, has been opened by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and blessed by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at Ta’ Passi fields in Ghajnsielem. The centre of attraction is the Nativity grotto, more than 80 actors are taking part. The village is open daily until January the 4th. It is animated on weekends and public holidays.

Canon Michael Borg of Xaghra has been appointed rector of St Paul’s church in Marsalforn, succeeding Fr Mariano Zammit of Xewkija, who served the church for the past 32 years.

Don Pasquale Chavez, the ninth successor of Don Bosco, made a brief visit to Gozo.

On the occasion of the end of the Jubilee year of the Lourdes apparitions a moment of spiritual reflection was held at the St. Anthony of Padova church at Ghajnsielem, followed by a walk towards the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes at Mgarr.

The bronze monument of Frangisk Portelli has just arrived in Gozo. The monument was made at the foundry of Domus Dei in Rome. The monument will be erected in the garden situated in front of the Sanctuary.
