This Saturday a new exhibition – Azure Watch – is opening at the Dwejra Tower in Gozo, by Artist-in-Residence Giuseppe Fanizza.
Giuseppe Fanizza has spent this September at the Artists’ Residency in Gharb – which is managed by Spazju Kreattiv and Valletta 2018 working on the Azure Watch Project.
Fondazzjoni Kreattività is inviting the public to view this exhibition, which is being hosted by Din l-Art Helwa at Dwejra Tower during the month of October and will include audio recordings, films, photographs and exhibits.
The idea of Azure Watch was conceived in order to begin a collective, multimedia archive of the Azure Window and the surrounding landscape that will remain available for consultation and the possible future implementation by the Gozitan community.
Fanizza was assisted in his research by volunteers of the Azure Watch Group – Mary Attard, Johannes Buch and Andrew Pace, who also worked with him on this exhibition at Dwejra Tower.
Dwejra Tower is a seventeenth century coastal Watchtower, which was restored and is now managed by Din L-Art Helwa, Malta’s National Trust.
The exhibition opens at 11.00am on Saturday at Dwejra Tower and will then be open on weekdays from 9am to 3pm and weekends from 10.30 to 3pm, until Sunday, the 29th of October.
This initiative is part of the Spazju Kreattiv programme.
