Gozo to celebrate Independence Day with AFM concert on Sunday

This coming Sunday, Gozo will be celebrating Independence Day with a concert in Victoria – the official day – a Public Holiday – is Thursday, the 21st of September.
Malta gained its political Independence from Britain on the 21st of September 1964. On the night of the 20-21st September, the Maltese flag was raised at Independence Arena, Floriana, amidst the cheers of the large crowd present. Malta had become an independent nation.
This year, the 53rd anniversary, the Gozo Culture and Information Office within the Ministry for Gozo, will host a Musical Concert by the Armed Forces of Malta, directed by Warrant Officer 1 Jonathan Borg.
The Concert will be presided by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana.
The Independence Day concert, which is on Sunday, the 17th of September, is free of charge, will be held in Independence Square, Victoria, starting at 7.30pm, the general public are invited to attend and are kindly requested to be seated by 7.15pm.
