The English Speaking Union (Gozo Branch) is proposing to establish an annual Public Speaking Competition to be held in the autumn, with cash prizes for the first three winners.
This competition will be open to those in secondary education in Gozo. Further details will be given in due course and disseminated in all secondary schools in Gozo in time for the first competition later this year.
The Gozo Branch said that it also needs more volunteers in order to extend this work in the secondary schools. Those interested are invited to e-mail for more information firstname.lastname@example.org
The English-Speaking Union (ESU) has been operating in London since 1918 with the intention of bringing people together through the use of one language, English – the language that has spread into most countries around the world.
The ESU now has branches in over 50 countries worldwide including Malta and of course, Gozo!
