Drama, music, dance and colours – highlighted the closing event for the sixth edition of Talenti+ which has been taking place at Kercem Ajax FC, with the theme – all different, all special.
The open-air theatre of the Villa Rundle Gardens, in Victoria, was the venue for this special event, held under the auspices of the Minister for Gozo, Dr Justyne Caruana.
92 students attended the graduation ceremony, following eight weeks of training in various areas, specially designed for children to promote their talents.
This year, Talenti + concentrated on the aspect of social inclusion and multiculturalism.
“That our children grow in spirit to accept diversity is the most positive step to help youngsters to accept their peers as equal, everyone having different skills and learning to work together,” said the Minister.
She also stressed that we must continue to instill in children a sense of diversity and acceptance so that from an early age we can help them learn the strong values of inclusion, equality and solidarity.
The Minister for Gozo also visited the Don Bosco Oratory, where children have been able to participate in a programme of activities, including Gozitan, traditional crafts.
The organisers said that the main message of this programme was that the positive energy of the children should be used in a context of tolerance and mutual respect.
Dr Caruana thanked all the participants, and the teachers and all organisers for their commitment with the children over the summer.
