During the celebration event held to mark the Gozo University Group’s 30th anniversary, current GUG President Maria Dimech, spoke about the various activities the organisation has worked on, both by the past executives and also by the present team.
Ms Dimech emphasised that GUG’s main goal is to make the life of all Gozitan students easier, and she acknowledged with pleasure the successful work carried out over the years by the organisation.
She said that the Gozo University Group’s main slogan reads ‘Making Change Easier,’ which is inspired by the changes in the Gozitan students’ lifestyle and the need for there to be an organisation ready to offer its help and voice the student’s challenges.”
GUG also unveiled the organisation’s revamped website. It explained that through this facility, students are now able to access this forum via all devices, making it easier and with more efficient accessibility to some of the most useful services such as the Mgarr live-cam, Gozo Ferry Timetables, bus routes, and more.
Present for the occasion were GUG’s first president Josiann Cutajar, as well as other former members of the executive that have been part of GUG throughout these past 30 years.
MP Dr Marthese Portelli was also present at the ceremony and congratulated the present executive for their work, placing an emphasis on the importance of such an organisation in our society and how it had evolved over the years.
The Gozo University Group said that it believes “that these have been 30 years of success and progress and is positive that in the next years, any challenges faced will be made easier by the GUG team, whose main priority will always be the Gozitan student.”
“This event has shown how such an organisation has built a community who is ambitious and has the best interest of all Gozitans as its main ideal,” it said.
GUG thanked everyone who they said, helped make the anniversary event possible.
