Gozo Youth Council congratulates young dancer Denise Buttigieg

The Gozo Youth Council has congratulated Gozitan Denise Buttigieg, on winning the competition to represent Malta at the Eurovision Young Dancers.
GYC wished Denise Buttigieg every success for her coming performance in the the Eurovision Young Dancers Final on the 16th of December, which is being held at the Prague Congress Centre.
Denise is 16-years old and competed against nine other finalists to win. She is the principal dancer at Naupaca Dance Factory. Having joined at the age of 9, Denise has since had major roles in all Naupaca’s major productions – namely Alice’s Adventures Underground, The Dream, The death of Snow White, Immaculate, Divina and After.
The Eurovision Young Dancers competition is open to solo dancers aged between 16 and 21, from EBU Member broadcasters.
The competition was first staged in Reggio Emilia, Italy, in 1985. It is staged every two years, although took a break from 2005-2011 for the Eurovision Dance Contest.
Spain has won the competition the most times, five, whilst Sweden, Belgium, and Switzerland have all come second twice.
