The Award of Best Visitor Attraction Project received by the Cittadella Visitors’ Centre in Victoria Gozo during an event held in London last month, has been welcomed by the Malta Tourism Authority
The Cittadella Visitors’ Centre came first in the Visitor Attraction Projects category, at the annual InstallAwards 2017 – beating three other finalists – The Viking Ship Museum Oslo, the Cheddar Gorge Caves, UK and The Don, Bollywood Parks Dubai.
Paul Bugeja, the MTA CEO, expressed the Authority’s satisfaction at the news of the success for this local attraction.
“Victoria’s Citadel has always been one of the major places of interest on the island of Gozo,” he said.
“With the outstanding work carried out to restore and rehabilitate the fortifications, and with the creation of this world-class visitor centre, the Citadel has become even more of a must-visit attraction, for both tourists and locals,” remarked Bugeja.
He concluded by saying that, “his award is a certificate of excellence for a job well done. It continues to motivate us to market and promote this unique, versatile venue for all types of events – from weddings to conferences, cultural to entertainment.”
The Cittadella Visitors’ Centre was developed for the Ministry for Gozo by Sarner, a leading company renowned for the design, building and installation of innovative experiences for brands, museums and theme parks. The project was co-funded by the EU.
