Gozo NGOs attend information session on this year’s Assistance Scheme

An information session took place Friday evening on the Gozo Non Governmental Organisations Assistance Scheme.
The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana attended the session, which was held at the NGO Centre in Xewkija. The Minister spoke about the important valuable contribution of voluntary work.
A large number of Gozitan NGOs attended the meeting, covering various sectors, including sports, culture and education.
During the meeting the CEO of the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector, Mr. Mauro Pace Parascandalo and the Fund Manager, Ms. Maria-Louise Busuttil, made a detailed presentation explaining how to apply for this funding.
Gozo NGOs registered with the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations can apply under this assistance scheme.
The the maximum amount of assistance to implement any financial projects, events and initiatives proposed in Gozo will not exceed € 5,000. They must also take place in the current year.
Mr. Mauro Pace Parascandalo also praised the way that this year, the process to distribute these funds “is one that is more structured and transparent.”
Both Minister Justyne Caruana and Mr. Pace Parascandalo congratulated the Gozitan NGOs and encouraged them to take this opportunity to submit their proposals within the established rules and therefore being able to benefit from the scheme, helping them work with efficiency and transparency in their field.
