Gozitan children, will this summer have the opportunity to benefit from a unique experience of learning about robotics, thanks to a course being offered by TCTC, which was made possible following an agreement reached between the Ministry for Gozo and the company.
The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana inaugurated the course during an introductory meeting for parents and children.
She said that discussions started a year ago with TCTC on this course, and to emphasise the importance of the subject, the Ministry decided to cover the complete costs of the course for children.
“Robotics is not only the future, but also the present, because we are marketing many devices that help in everyday life,” explained the Minister. Adding that Gozo should be projected as a hub for this type of specialised activity.
“It is therefore essential to encourage our children from a young age to approach these sectors through interactive courses. As Minister, I felt that the investment in this course means that we are heading in the right direction. It is encouraging that more than two hundred children have so far participated in the course,” Minister Caruana.
Justyne Caruana concluded by saying that “by investing in young people and children, the Ministry for Gozo is building a firm foundation for a stronger economy through human resource better prepared for the world of work, with other projects planned for the island in the coming years.”
