Minister for Gozo meets with the Gozo NGOs Association

Earlier this week, a delegation from the Gozo NGOs Association, led by the President Mr Saviour Grech, met with the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana.
The state of affairs of the NGO sector in Gozo was discussed during the meeting, which was took place at the Ministry for Gozo.
Mr. Grech, in his opening remarks, congratulated Dr Caruana on her appointment as Minister for Gozo. Mr Grech continued by emphasising that “all members of the Gozo NGOs Association’s Council had faith in her abilities to meet the needs of the sector.”
The Minister for Gozo, on her part, made a commitment to “provide all possible assistance for the betterment of the sector.”
At the same time, Dr Caruana emphasised the need for the sector to have a fully professional approach and fully transparent working methods.
She added that “the Association has an important role to give a voice to Gozo’s NGO sector, and more importantly to give a greater voice to the smaller organisations within the sector.”
Dr Caruana concluded by assuring Mr Grech and the rest of the Gozo NGOs Association, of the Gozo Ministry’s backing as long as the Association was fully compliant with all Maltese legislation, as well as all the requirements and working methods demanded by the Council of the Voluntary Sector and those of the Office of the Commissioner of the Voluntary Sector.
With regard to the new Ministry for Gozo Non Governmental Organisations Assistance Scheme, an Information Session will be held on Friday, the 21st of July, at 6.00pm, at the Gozo NGO Centre, Il-Madonna tar-Rummiena Street, Xewkija Gozo.
