Exhibition of St George wooden artefacts at Il-Hagar Museum

An exhibition of St George wooden artefacts at Il-Hagar museum in Victoria, has been inaugurated by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana. Also present were Archpriest Joseph Curmi and Museum Curator Mgr Joseph Farrugia.
The collection will be on display till the end of September and includes hand-carved statues from Bavaria and lower Austria, ranging from the early nineteenth century to recent years.
One of the statues comes from the prominent Zwink workshop in Oberammergau. Other items include a Balkan hand-painted flask icon set.
The museum, which is located in St George’s Square, is open daily from 9am to 5pm seven days a week. Entrance is free of charge.
