During a visit to the Citadel, the Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana announced that together with the Project Management Committee, they are evaluating the progress made in this project, as well as discussing its future.
The Minister said that she is following the continuous work, including that by the Citadel Scheme workers who are undergoing the necessary training. Dr Caruana also said that discussions are underway to develop the project further within the rich framework of the Gozitan cultural and historical heritage.
“This is a very important project for Gozitans and for the thousands of Maltese and foreigners that visit to admire the wealth of historical heritage, as well as the professional work that has been undertaken to restore and preserve its original glory,” commented Minister Caruana.
In an interview with Ellen Hidding who was presenting the Melaverde programme on Canale 5, Minister Caruana described the magnitude of Gozo’s historical and environmental heritage as unique. Throughout the programme, viewers were able to see the spectacular scenery of the Citadel and the picturesque landscape of the island of Gozo.
