Next Saturday at the Citadel, Gozo, ZfinMalta will be presenting excerpts from a double bill – Tnejn(2) – framed by a strong Mediterranean sensibility by two Spanish choreographers working in Diaspora – Ivan Perez Aviles and Lucia Piguero.
Spanish – Dutch choreographer Iván Pérez Avilés is one of the most exciting emerging international dance makers today.
ZfinMalta said that the company is proud that he re-staged his highly acclaimed work ‘Exhausting Space’ as part of Tnejn(2), which visitors to the Citadel next Saturday will now have the opportunity to see excerpts from.
‘Exhausting Space’ was originally commissioned by and premiered at the Korzo Theatre in The Hague, 2015. Presented as an adaptation of his previous work ‘Attention, the doors are closing!’ created in Moscow, three dancers tenderly discover new possibilities for human connectedness.
Saturday’s programme includes excerpts from a short work by Spanish – Malta based choreographer Lucía Piquero.
‘Petrichor’ was originally created on the 2015 – 2016 group of ZfinMalta apprentice dancers. Artistic Direction is by Mavin Khoo.
The work was received with enthusiasm and was then re-staged for the main company dancers of ZfinMalta.
Tnejn(2) premiered in Malta at Teatru Excelsior, Gharghur, in May this year.
