Celebrations to mark the feast of St Peter and St Paul – Patron Saints of Nadur village, came to a close last night.
The evening programme started with Solemn vespers, led by Mgr. Antonio Muniz Fernandes, the Archbishop of Maceió in Brazil.
This was followed by a procession with the statue of the Saints around the streets of Nadur, accompanied by the Mnarja Band.
2017 is an important year for Nadur Parish because it will be celebrating two anniversaries. The 50th Anniversary since the parish was given from Rome the privilege of a Basilica in 1967. It is also important because it marks the 150th Anniversary since the parish church of Nadur was consecrated.
The Mnarja Band also commemorates the 50th Anniversary since its inception and 25 years under the musical direction of Mro Joseph Grech.
