Industrial production up in April on previous month and last year

According to data from the National Statistics Office today, there was an increase in seasonally adjusted industrial production in April of 2.8 per cent over the previous month.
The NSO added that when compared to April last year, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 3.6 per cent.
Increases were registered in the production of consumer goods (6.3 per cent) and energy (4.3 per cent), the NSO said.
It also noted that on the other hand, the production of intermediate goods and capital goods went down by 1.4 and 1.0 per cent respectively.
Thee index of industrial production adjusted for working days, when compared to April 2016, went up by 3.6 per cent, the NSO said.
Increases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (13.8 per cent), energy (8.8 per cent) and capital goods (0.3 per cent). The NSO added that the production of consumer goods went down by 5.5 per cent.
