The Phoenix Singers in Concert this Friday in Ghajnsielem

This coming Friday, the JP2 Foundation will be hosting the Phoenix Singers in a concert at Our Lady of Loreto Parish Church in Ghajnsielem.
Th choir hails from Bournville, Birmingham in the UK. It is made up of 120 choir members of all ages and from all over the City of Birmingham and beyond.
They sing for enjoyment and the choir hold regular concerts to raise money for local charities, sometimes in local venues around the Bournville area, at other times in the centre of Birmingham, or as guests of choirs elsewhere in the UK. They also tour abroad every other year.
The choir has a repertoire of a wide range of secular and sacred music, from gospel to ‘pop’ classical to folk; such as Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man, Mozart’s Requiem, Zimbe by Alexander L’Estrange and Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light.
This Friday, the 3rd of June, the Phoenix Singers will be participating at the 7.00pm Mass at the Ghajnsielem Parish Church, which will be followed by a Sacred Music Concert.
The special evening is to mark the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the canonisation of Saint Gorg Preca, which took place in June 2007 at the Vatican.
The general public is warmly invited to attend.
