Two Gozo winners for this year’s National Enterprise Support Awards

Last week the Commerce Department held the awards-giving ceremony of the 7th edition of the National Enterprise Support Awards, these included two winners from Gozo.
In Section A, which was open to Local Councils, San Lawrenz Local Council was Runner-Up……with the initiative “Regeneration of the San Lawrenz Village.” The Councils said that during the last year it supported local enterprises through the Swejjaq initiative, the upgrade of the village and offered support to the youths to get into the entrepreneurial sector.
The Gozo Tourism Association was awarded the Consolation Prize in Section C….with the initiative “Entrepreneurship Awards – Life Time Achievement Awards.” Section C was open to Public and Church Schools, Business Organisations, NGOs, Public Educational Institutions, University of Malta, Trade Unions and Professional Associations
The awards were presented by Ms. Nancy Caruana – Perm. Sec. of the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses – for the winners, runner-ups and consolation prizes in the 3 different Sections.
Malta’s two nominees for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards 2017, were also announced.
The Malta Employers’ Association with the initiative – The Malta Business Story, and The Dun Manwel Attard, Young Adult Education, Resource Centre, Wardija with the initiative – Setting up our Social Enterprise, will be Malta’stwo2 nominees for the EU competition – European Enterprise Promotion Awards 2017 which will be held later on this year in Estonia.
