The Malta Environment & Planning Authority (MEPA) decided 507 applications in November and received 477 new applications. The net pending caseload at the end of the month was 4,557.
During November the Authority processed 106 notifications of development, which, according to the Development Notification Order 2007, do not require a formal application.
In November 2008, 112 Stop and Enforcement notices were issued, 98 in Malta and 14 in Gozo.
During the same month, 55 enforcement cases were closed, 41 in Malta and 14 in Gozo. 34 enforcement cases were sanctioned by the issue of a sanctionable permit. Another 20 cases were resolved since owners decided to remove illegal development and comply with enforcement notice. During the same month 1 case was withdrawn by MEPA.
