Gozo Tourism Association proposals on Gozo as a distinct destinationThe Gozo Tourism Association has said in a statement that it is now the accepted belief by most, including political parties, that Gozo is a distinct destination.

Therefore, it said, this belief must be enhanced with designed structures and measures to project and promote Gozo as an island and a destination, based on its merits and unique features.

The GTA said that the vision of Gozo as a distinct destination also means that Gozo is a complementary destination country for Malta.

To achieve this goal, there is now a need to look at things from a different perspective with regard to tourism in Gozo, the Association said.

This was the framework of proposals within which the Gozo Tourism Association Council looked at and discussed, the GTA said. “A set of proposals that have been selected to be considered have now been put forward in the design of the electoral programme for the political parties.”

The proposals which are in Maltese are available for download here.

I notice the document detailing the proposals is in Maltese only. Why not publish in other languages and invite tourists and ex-pats living in Gozo to make suggestions about what would make Gozo more attractive to tourists of their nationality?
