The Aurora Theatre in Victoria, Gozo, is the venue for – Tghid lil Hadd! (Shhhhhh! Don’t tell anyone!) – an original work, in Maltese language, penned by Maltese renowned author Simone Spiteri.
The Theatre said that resulting from a number of workshops with Gozitan youths, the one-act drama looks at the realities, challenges and aspirations faced by young people.
This production follows the successful experimental launch of educational drama at the Aurora Theatre last year by its youth-and-educational arm Aurora Youth Movement, when it revived the production of “Il-Hajja Xejn Cool ta’ Teenager Jismu Julian” (the not-so-cool life of a teenager called Julian) – another successful work by award-winning author Simone Spiteri.
The Aurora said that its stage will be adapted into an intimate theatre setting. Audience and actors share the stage not merely for space economy but, truly, for an intimate experience whereby the audience can be part of the feelings and emotions that typically run high in the turbulent and adventurous lives of young people.
Apart from the performances for schools, two public shows are scheduled, on Saturday, the 13th of May, at 7.30pm and Sunday, the 14th of May at 5.30pm.The show is expected to last not longer than 60 minutes.
